Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS)

The Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS) is one of Brazil's leading teaching and research institutions, recognised for its academic excellence and knowledge production across various fields, including International Relations, Strategy, and African Studies. Building upon this tradition, the university hosts the Postgraduate Programme in Political Science (PPGCP/UFRGS), a benchmark centre for training researchers and developing strategic analyses on international politics, security, and defence.

The participation of PPGCP/UFRGS in this project represents the contribution and legacy of the Brazilian Centre for Strategy and International Relations (NERINT) and the Brazilian Centre for African Studies (CEBRAFRICA), two research groups with decades of experience in the theme and subject matter proposed. These initiatives stand out for their consolidated academic output, the training of highly qualified human resources, and the establishment of strategic partnerships with federal executive bodies, such as the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

In addition to being the alma mater of a significant number of the researchers involved in this project, PPGCP/UFRGS plays a fundamental role in establishing the network of Brazilian and international researchers proposed herein.
